Animal Science Classes

We are currently enrolling for our Fall 2025 Animal Science Classes. Use the link at the bottom to complete the registration form.

Each session will include hands-on lessons where students will be given the tools, materials and detailed instructions to learn about unique areas of animal science, perform experiments, make crafts, and participate in physical activities/games.

Activities will be STEAM-focused and designed to fit into any homeschool curriculum.

Fall 2025 Animal Science Classes:

Ages 10 years and under (if you are interested but over 10 yrs old contact us).

Choice of Session:

Session 1 (6 classes) - Tuesdays 10:00am - 11:30am 
            October 7 - November 11, 2025
Session 2 (6 classes) - Thursdays 10:00am - 11:30am
           October 9 - November 13, 2025
$180 per student per session (50% discount for additional siblings)
Pre-Registration and a nonrefundable deposit are required.  See link below for registration information.

Each session is taught by Patty Pantelione, owner of Painted Bay Farm LLC, who retired from teaching after 32 years in the NJ Public School system with the New Jersey Teacher of Science Certification grades K-12. Patty has been involved in the Rutgers 4-H program for over 40 years as a member and 4-H leader. She is currently the leader of the Atlantic County 4-H Mini Whinnies Horse Club.

All topics are adapted to the age and abilities of the participants. Here are a few examples:

The role of agriculture in our daily lives and understand how most of the necessities of life can be traced back to the farm.

Life Cycles of Farm Animals: Farm animal traits, gestation/incubation, care of young, life span

Genetics: Understand the passing of traits to offspring, how farmers use genetics when breeding livestock, how to select livestock for your family.

Raising animals on the farm. What do the animals eat? How do we keep the animals healthy. Some of our goats have horns. Why don’t the other goats have horns.

The role of animals in seed dispersion. How farm animals affect their environment.

Fee: $180 (includes 6 classes) per student. 50% discount for additional siblings. Pre-Registration is Required. We accept Venmo, cash or check.
